We believe it is essential for everyone to be trained in First Aid and CPR so they can confidently approach a situation with the proficiency and skills to help individuals in an emergency situation.
Our Founder - André Bourguignon
André, a proud native of Carleton Place, Ontario, has been deeply immersed in the realm of aquatics and lifesaving education since his formative years. His journey began as a lifeguard and swim instructor, culminating in the creation of Elemental First Aid during his senior years at Carleton Place High School in 2012.
Driven by a genuine passion for imparting life-saving skills and swimming proficiency to individuals of all ages, André established Elemental First Aid with a clear mission in mind. Since then, he has dedicated over a decade to teaching First Aid and CPR courses to local businesses and the wider community, nurturing a culture of safety and preparedness.
Residing in Carleton Place with his wife, Mikayla, and their four children, André's commitment to his hometown remains unwavering. In 2020, he expanded his impact by acquiring NCAC Swim, a swim club in the Ottawa Area, where he continues to foster a love for swimming among enthusiasts of all levels.
Through Elemental First Aid and NCAC Swim, André exemplifies his belief in the importance of community involvement and accessible education. His goal is simple yet profound: to equip individuals with the indispensable skills of swimming and emergency response, ensuring safety and confidence for all.
Our History
We are a registered affiliate of the Lifesaving Society and Emergmart Response Systems; Code 8 EMS Division, offering our local community WSIB-Approved First Aid and CPR classes.
For over a decade, Elemental First Aid has been Carleton Place, Smiths Falls and the Ottawa Valley’s chosen First Aid and CPR training provider for local businesses and the general public.
We have done CPR and First Aid Training with all professions, ranging from nurses and paramedics to childcare providers, various trade companies, developmental service workers and more.
These companies include but are not limited to Carleton Place Childcare Services, Carleton Place High School, Children’s Resources on Wheels, Tayside Community Options, Jackson Homes, etc.

Our courses are run onsite at your work location, or we can run your course at one of our locations in Carleton Place or Smiths Falls

We gear our courses towards the profession of the candidates taking them. Our primary focus is hands-on training with much practical knowledge and theory. This ensures that by the end of the course, candidates are comfortable dealing with situations that could arise both at work and outside of it.
